Competitions
The ID sponsors and co-sponsors and supports a number of design competitions throughout the year. See the calendar of the next competitions and download the competitions regulations.
Career Planner
The community provides the youth members with lifelong career planning skills. Investing time in this process is an informed business decision. The selection represents the moment in which each applicant’s former experience, potential and motivation are assessed. The admission to the Independent Design Community is thus a real career turning point, which will improve thanks to experience in class, internships and placement.
During this phase the candidates will take part in many activities aimed at determining their goals depending on their aptitudes. The Academy’s staff, the Career Guidance and Counselling Office will contribute to the definition of the internship and following placement of every candidate.
Personal Coaching
Personal and professional coaching is an ongoing professional relationship that helps people produce extraordinary results in their lives, careers, businesses or organisations.
Professional coaches help graduates and executives to improve their performances and enhance the quality of their lives. The coach's job is to provide support to enhance the skills, resources, and creativity that alumni already have.
Internships
Finding a good graduate job is hard at the best of times but there is a way to give the student an edge over others, and to give themselves the best chance of securing a job and gaining valuable work experience, and that's by doing an Internship.
Participants at the Academy’s Internship Program will have significant responsibilities and will be expected to contribute to the company’s overall goals. Each intern will be given a project, either as part of a team or individually, to be completed and presented at the conclusion of the program. A company officer with several years of experience will be assigned as a mentor to provide advice and guidance throughout the internship.
Job Opportunities
The constant interchange between theory and practice, and our involvement with the design industry give our students the opportunity to enter the fashion world with an excellent preparation and great professionalism.
The Academy follows up on job opportunities for its clients at the end of their course of studies. The employment service periodically carry out a survey on the Academy’s occupational results in order to monitor the capacity to meet the job market's requirements and to the ever-changing needs of the design sector's business.
